Dual projection in a two-dimensional curved expanding universe

It is a well known result that the scalar field is composed of two chiral particles (Floreanini-Jackiw particles) of opposite chiralities. Also, that a Siegel particle spectrum is formed by a nonmover field (a Hull's noton) and a FJ particle. In this work we show that in a scalar field spectrum, in a curved expanding universe scenario, we can find two dynamical chiral fields.Comment: 6 pages, Revtex. Final version to appear in Int. J. Superspace Formulation for the BRST Quantization of the Chiral Schwinger Model

    Get PDF
It has recently been shown that the Field Antifield quantization of anomalous irreducible gauge theories with closed algebra can be represented in a BRST superspace where the quantum action at one loop order, including the Wess Zumino term, and the anomalies show up as components of the same superfield. We show here how the Chiral Schwinger model can be represented in this formulation.Comment: 11 pages, Late

Chiral boson on a circle revisited

It is a well known result that the scalar field spectrum is composed of two chiral particles (Floreanini-Jackiw particles) of opposite chiralities. Also, that a Siegel particle spectrum is formed by a nonmover field (a Hull's noton) and a FJ particle. We show here that, in fact, the spectrum of the chiral boson on a circle has a particle not present in its currently well known spectrum.Comment: 11 pages, Latex. Final version to appear in Braz. J. The DELPHI Silicon Tracker in the global pattern recognition

ALEPH and DELPHI were the first experiments operating a silicon vertex detector at LEP. During the past 10 years of data taking the DELPHI Silicon Tracker was upgraded three times to follow the different tracking requirements for LEP 1 and LEP 2 as well as to improve the tracking performance. Several steps in the development of the pattern recognition software were done in order to understand and fully exploit the silicon tracker information. This article gives an overview of the final algorithms and concepts of the track reconstruction using the Silicon Tracker in DELPHI.Comment: Talk given at the 8th International Workshop on Vertex Detectors, Vertex'99, Texel, Nederland

Productivity drivers in European banking: Country effects, legal tradition and market dynamics

This paper analyses efficiency drivers of a representative sample of European banks by means of the two-stage procedure proposed by Simar and Wilson (2007). In the first stage, the technical efficiency of banks is estimated using DEA (data envelopment analysis) in order to establish which of them are most efficient. Their ranking is based on total productivity in the period 1993-2003. In the second stage, the Simar and Wilson (2007) procedure is used to bootstrap the DEA scores with a truncated bootstrapped regression. The policy implications of our findings are considered
